First Federal Credit Union has made a series of certificates of deposit available to their members with interest rates that are currently without equal.  The Iowa based credit union is promoting CD rates that are well above the national average bank CD rates as well as those that are available from state and federally insured credit unions.

The promotional CD rates are available on three separate terms that can be used to cover a wide range of savings and investing needs.  The shortest term available is a one-year term to maturity certificate that comes with a 2.25% yield.  The credit unions offers a mid-term account with a two-year term to maturity and a CD interest rate of 2.50%.  And the longest term is a four-year certificate that has 3.00% rate of return.

Savers and investors that believe interest rates are relatively elevated and consider that they’re only going to hold here or move down, will find the long-term CDs might make the most sense.  While those savers and investors that think interest rates are set to climb further may want to keep their funds in short term certificates in order to capitalize on rising rates in the near future.

All three CDs require a minimum deposit of $10,000.00 to open an account and earn the advertised annual percentage yield.  Certificate of deposit products are available only to members of the credit union.  Membership to First Federal Credit Union is open to all that live, work, or worship in Linn, Dickinson, Clay and Buena Vista counties in Iowa.

Penalties may be imposed for early withdrawal from the credit union CDs.  Additional terms and conditions may apply.  Rates are effective as of March 14, 2018 and are subject to change at any time.  Accounts are insured by the NCUA up to applicable limits.

First Federal Credit Union often offers some of the highest CD rates in the region.  More information about the high yield CD rates in Iowa can be obtained by calling a First Federal Credit Union customer service representative at (319) 743-7806.
