Certificate of deposit rates in Arizona dropped buy an almost imperceptible amount week over week.  The best six month CD rate now matches the best national six month CD rate at 2.26% which is down one basis point or 1/100 of a percent.  Bankers Trust offers this rate on an odd term, seven month maturity CD.  The next best CD rates drop off by a measurable amount with Metro Phoenix Bank promoting a six month CD with an interest rate of 2.02%.  Summit Bank and Meridian Bank also offer odd month CDs which mature in seven months and are two basis points back at 2.00%.  Two Arizona banks, Gateway Commercial Bank and AmTrust Bank, have six month CD that also offer 2.00% interest rates. 

Metro Phoenix Bank continues to lead to the one year CD rate group with a one year CD that yields 2.78%.  As with the six month CDs, the next best CD rates drop down quite a bit with Bankers Trust producing the next best CD rate of 2.51% on an 18 month term.  Bank USA is one basis point lower on a true one year term with an interest rate of 2.50%.  Two basis points lower is a one year CD marketed by Gold Canyon Bank at 2.48%.

The best two year CD rate in Arizona remain above the best national rates with the two year CD from Metro Phoenix Bank that has an interest rate of 2.93%.  The next best two year CD rate comes from Gold Canyon Bank at 2.74%.  Community Bank of Arizona is the next best bet with a two year CD that earns a rate of 2.60%.  The remaining banks offer rates from 2.55% to 2.50% with FirstBank marketing the 2.50% two year CD at the end of the list.

The best five year CD rates in Arizona also surpass the best national rates.  US Bank and Downey Savings share the top position as well as sharing common owners with 59 month term CDs that have a rate of 3.75%.  Both, MidFirst Bank and Heritage Bank, have five year CDs that earn a rate of 3.50% to fall next in line.  Five basis points lower is a promotional 59 month term CD of First International Bank and Trust that has an interest rate of 3.45%.
