The Chase Bank checking accounts include a basic checking account simply called Chase Checking, an interest earning checking account called the Chase Premier Checking, a step up to the basic interest earning account called the Chase Premier Platinum Checking and a student checking account aptly named Student Checking.
Chase Checking highlights:
The Chase basic checking account comes with a free debit card, free Chase online banking and bill pay, free Chase Bank mobile banking, access to more than 15,000 Chase ATMs and 5,100 Chase Bank branches nationwide. The minimum amount needed to open this Chase checking account is $25.00. The Chase Checking account has no monthly service fee as long as the account holder makes five or more debit card purchases each statement period or has at least one direct deposit of $500.00 or more each statement period, if the monthly conditions are not met the checking account has a $6.00 monthly service fee.
Chase Premier Checking highlights:
The Chase Premier Checking account has all of the features found in the basic Chase Checking account, in addition to earning interest. This checking account also offers free Chase design checks, no bank fees from Chase Bank on the account holder’s first four non-Chase ATM transactions, a free safe deposit box, no fee for money orders or official checks or travelers checks or gift cards and a higher rate and no monthly service fee on a Chase Plus Savings account.
The minimum deposit needed to open this checking account is also $25.00. There is no monthly service fee with this account if the account holder has an average daily balance of $15,000.00 or more in deposits or loans or investment. If those conditions are not met, the monthly service fee is $20.00.
Chase Premier Platinum Checking highlights:
The Chase Premier Platinum checking account offers all of the benefits found with the Chase Premier Checking account in addition, this account provides account holders; a competitive interest rate, free personal style checks, no fees from Chase Bank for using non-Chase ATMs, no overdraft protection transfer fee, no incoming wire transfer fee, no stop payment fees and no monthly service fee on a Chase Plus Savings account.
The minimum deposit to open this account is $100.00. There is no monthly fee if the account holder maintains an average daily balance of $75,000.00 or more in deposits or investments. If the minimum balance requirement is not met, the monthly service fee is $25.00.
Student Checking highlights:
Chase Bank offers both a High School checking account and a Chase Bank College Checking account. The High School student checking account from Chase has the same features as the basic Chase Checking account with the addition of waiver for the $6.00 monthly fee if the account holder has a monthly direct deposit into the checking account or there is a qualified linked Chase checking account with a parent or guardian. The minimum deposit amount to open this account is $25.00.
The College Checking account offers the same benefits as the High School Checking account with the exception of the monthly fee waiver. The $6.00 monthly maintenance fee is waived for account holders that have a monthly direct deposit or are enrolled in college for up to five years. The minimum deposit amount to open this account is $25.00.
