The best CD rates in Arizona were unchanged for the week in every term category and for every bank rate listed.  The highest rates remain split in their competitive position relative to the highest national bank CD rates.  The best six month CD rates and two year CD rates remains above the highest national rates while the one year CD rates and five year CD rates fall behind the best national bank rates available.

The highest six month CD rate stands at 2.26% and is a product of Bankers Trust on an odd term CD that has seven month maturity.  The average of the best six month CD rates remains unchanged at 2.04% with three out of six banks on the list offering CDs that yield 2.00%.

The best one year CD rates and two year CD rates is led by one bank, Metro Phoenix Bank.  The one year CD rate is only two basis points or 2/100 of a percent beneath the best national rates.  The highest one year CD rate is offered by Metro Phoenix Bank at 2.78%.  The highest rates drop significantly from this figure bringing the average for the category down to 2.51%.  The highest two year CD rate by Metro is at 2.93% and is three basis points above the best national rate.  The average in this category stands at 2.64%.

The best five year CD rate is at 3.50% and is available with three banks, MidFirst Bank, US Bank and Heritage Bank.  The next best rate drops to 3.35% and can be found at First International Bank and Trust.  The average of the best five year CD rates in Arizona remained at 3.33%.
