Apple Bank is now running a promotion on their high yield money market account.  The bank offers a 3.75% interest rate on the account, guaranteed for 12 months on balances up to $199,999.00.  This high yield money market account is the highest rate currently offered in New York.  In order to achieve the advertised interest rate on the money market account, the accountholder must also open and maintain Grand Yield Advantage Now Checking Account.  The checking account must have at least 6 transactions per billing cycle.  The minimum amount to open the checking account is $100.00.  The minimum opening deposit for the money market account is $10,000.00 to avoid the $25.00 monthly maintenance fee.  The money market account has a tiered interest rate structure.  Balances on the money market account between $1.00 and $9,999.00 earns a yield of 3.75%, balances on the account between $10,000.00 and $24,999.00 earns a yield of 3.75%, balances between $25,000.00 and $49,999.00 earns a 3.75% APY, balances between $50,000.00 and $99,999.00 earn 3.75%, balances between $100,000.00 and $199,999.00 also earns a rate of 3.75% and balances over $200,000.00 earns a 3.25% APY.

 

Apple Bank offers other money market accounts as well, including a Treasury Bill Indexed Money Market Account where the interest rate earned is independently indexed to a US Treasury Bill yield.  Money market account holders with Apple bank can access their funds in any of the bank money market accounts by writing as many as three checks per month with no charge.

 

In addition to the money market accounts for consumer savings, Apple bank offers a broad group of CD accounts to choose from too.  CDs are available in either passbook or statement format and are available anywhere between 15 days and 10 years in length.
